Project Background

The SCADA Operations Center of a large-scale chemical enterprise is responsible for real-time monitoring and scheduling of 10 production lines within the plant. As operations expanded, the existing control consoles became outdated, with disorganized layouts, scattered spare parts, and poor multi-screen coordination—making real-time monitoring and dispatch increasingly difficult.

As a leading professional control console manufacturer in China, WuBang adheres to the core principles of ergonomic design, environmental responsibility, and rational layout, delivering a customized SCADA console solution tailored to the client’s operational needs.

I. Core Console Configuration and Functional Adaptation

The WuBang console adopts a “hardware integration + functional customization” design approach. Its core configuration includes:

  • Six modular operator workstations, featuring ergonomic seating and height-adjustable desks
  • Customized multifunctional information boxes with built-in signal distribution modules, supporting up to eight displays simultaneously
  • Concealed integrated cable management channels for network, power, and signal lines
  • Industrial-grade PDUs with 16 power outlets and overload protection
  • Emergency interconnection control buttons

Functionally, the information box enables synchronized multi-screen data transmission, while the PDU ensures stable power supply. Operators can quickly switch between production line monitoring screens, adjust valves, and configure parameters, fully supporting the SCADA system’s multi-dimensional data visualization requirements.

II. Project Risks and Implementation Challenges

Three major challenges were identified during implementation.

  • Limited space, requiring maximum utilization while maintaining operator comfort;
  • Non-unified interfaces, as existing equipment from multiple brands used different signal standards;
  • 24/7 continuous operation, meaning console replacement had to be completed without system downtime.

III. WuBang Targeted Solutions

To address these challenges, WuBang implemented the following solutions:

  • An L-shaped modular console layout, flexibly configured to the room dimensions, reducing floor space requirements by approximately 30%;
  • A multi-protocol conversion chipset integrated into the information box, supporting six signal formats including HDMI and DVI;
  • A time-slot installation strategy, with pre-assembly and testing conducted in a spare area, followed by equipment migration and connection within two hours during a production break;
  • Redundant power channels integrated into the PDU to ensure uninterrupted SCADA system power during switching.

IV. Project Results and Client Feedback

After implementation, multi-screen collaboration efficiency in the SCADA operations center increased by approximately 60%, while equipment failure rates decreased by 40%. The upgraded control room now operates with significantly improved stability and efficiency, earning high recognition from the client.

Conclusion

By addressing space constraints, interface compatibility, and continuous operation requirements, WuBang control consoles delivered a reliable, efficient, and future-ready upgrade for the chemical industry’s SCADA operations center—laying a solid foundation for safe production and intelligent management.
